"Ok, you've missed your period. You're pregnant. When is the baby due? It's a really important question. I'm going to tell you how you can figure out your due date. I'm Dr. Jill Hechtman, from Tampa, Florida To begin, when you're at home, you can follow this simple little rule, to kind of get an idea of when your baby is due. That's called Nagel's Rule, and what it is, is you take the first day of your last menstrual period, go back three months, and add seven days. This will give you your approximate due date, for when the baby is born. This is not exact, but it will kind of give you an idea. The way we figure out, in the doctor's office, how to figure this out, is we do ultrasound, and take a history. We usually use the first day of your last menstrual period, and use a pregnancy calculator, to figure out that day. That, in conjunction with ultrasound, gives us within a two to three day period, if done in the first trimester, of exactly when your baby is due. I'm Dr. Jill Hechtman, from Tampa, Florida, telling you how to figure out your due date."
