"Are you pregnant, about 16 weeks, starting to have a lot of pain and pressure in your belly, that could be round ligament pain. It is actually the most common cause of pain in the beginning of pregnancy. I'm Dr. Jill from Tampa, Florida here to tell you how do you treat round ligament pain? Well unfortunately there is no treatment but there are ways to make you feel better and help relieve some of that pain. First of all round ligament pain comes because a round ligament is a ligament that connects your back to your uterus and those ligaments pull and help the uterus grow and give your uterus support. So whenever you do something like bend down or sit up fast or move forward or back those ligaments are stretched and cause discomfort. It is very common and it is not harmful. The best thing to do to alleviate it is to rest if you are having it, drink lots of fluids, try to get good rest and take Tylenol if the pain is so severe. If it is not going away, not relieved with Tylenol, always make sure to check with your healthcare provider. You don't want to miss something that could be a lot more serious. Round ligament pain is normal and happens to everybody. I'm Dr. Jill from Tampa, Florida telling you how to treat round ligament pain."
