"Have you missed your period? Are you having symptoms that just don't feel so right? You could be pregnant. I'm Dr. Jill from Tampa, Florida telling you how to know if you are truly pregnant. Obviously how to know if you are pregnant is to take a pregnancy test but there are some subtle signs that you can figure out before needing to take that pregnancy test. If you are trying then obviously you will know before other people because you know your cycle and you know when you have had intercourse and you are waiting for that missed period but there are other signs. For instance irritability, crying at Hallmark commercials, breast swelling, tenderness, fatigue, all of these symptoms are subtle and could be related to other things but also could be a big sign of pregnancy. I recommend that you take your pregnancy test either the first day of your missed period or wait a week after your missed period. Both tests are probably o'kay. The first day of your missed period your hormone levels should be high enough to detect whether you are pregnant or not but if you wait that week it might be better because then your hormones will definitely be high enough to pick up on a home pregnancy test. The other way is to go see your healthcare provider. They can do either a urine test in their office or a blood test that will help tell you whether you are pregnant or not. I'm Dr. Jill from Tampa, Florida telling you how to know if you're pregnant."
