"The permanent exhibitions at the Orange County History Center, located in Downtown, Orlando will take visitors to the areas first people and their initial encounter with the Spanish. Next its fast forward to the 19th century. You'll experience the Seminole wars and the many challenges Central Florida's early pioneer's faced. Check out the first hand account of what life was really like on the wide open cattle range of the 1880's. Discover how the big trees devastated the new citrus industry in the 1890's and set many folks packing. Step into the 20th century and experience Central Florida during the war years. Learn just how important the Orlando Airbase was during World War II. You'll see everything there from a replica World War II B17 Bomber to the restored 1927 court room B and the outdoor heritage square courtyard.
