"Hi everyone, I'm Russ Handler, travel expert. You know, every now and again, a houseboat is just a wonderful way to have a family vacation, even a small romantic getaway. Throughout North America there are hundreds of places where you could get houseboats on-line in quaint little rivers, in quaint little lakes, bigger lakes, and even in estuaries, and inter-coastal waterways. But in order to really get the most for your money, you're going to have to decide how many people you're going to have with you and the level of luxury that you want. So if you don't want a VCR, don't pay for it. If you don't want two plasma TVs and all the extras, don't pay for it. But the best way to get yourself a good houseboat in the city, or the lake, or village that you want is to go on-line to the specific area. Let's say you want to go to Mississippi and rent a houseboat, take a couple laps up and down the Mississippi River for a couple days--not a problem--just go to houseboats Mississippi on the Internet. You'll find good pictures; you'll find good rates. And always request, of course, a written rate in advance before you go so that when you get there and after you've traveled you know that the rate you bought into is still available. I'm Russ Handler and that's how it's done."
