"Hi, I'm Linda Wooldridge and I'm a home school mom. I've been home schooling for ten years, so you can bet we've had a lot of days where school didn't really come together for us. So what do you do on a day when you feel like you need to do school but it's really not working for you? Here's an idea. Grab a game. For example, Yahtzee. There's lots of math in this. They need to add up the totals on their dice, they need to decide what strategy to use, which category are you going to put it in. Another great game for elementary school students would be Boggle, or Scrabble, anything that involves spelling and vocabulary is a great opportunity for your student. How about Monopoly? We're talking about our economies and how to handle our money, and we're having a great time at the same time. Or even Risk here which has a lot of strategy in it. There's great ways to get your school done and still have fun. So make sure you have a few great games in your game closet so that on those days when you're just not quite up to doing school, or when you need to make a point in a different way, you can get out a game and have fun. I'm Linda Wooldridge, have a great home schooling day."
