"Hi, I'm Linda Wooldridge, I'm a home school mom and I've been home schooling for over ten years. I have a son who's currently in college and when he graduated from high school, I had to make him this transcript. And what I found out, unfortunately after the fact, was how important this piece of paper could be. Regardless of what your child expects to do after they graduate from high school, make sure that you do make a transcript, just in case you need it. Here are some of things I found out were really important to his transcript. One was the list of classes that we had on here. This particular software that I used organized them by type of subject. They also want to see your grade and down at the bottom, the grading scale that I used to assign him those grades. The classes that are college level are listed as honors classes. And towards that end, all of the grades create his GPA. In addition to that on a second page, and a transcript should never be more than two pages, I found out later, I have a listing of his SAT scores and all of his extracurricular activity. Colleges want to see that they're getting a well rounded student, not just one who can process the grade. If you've used a software, they ask the right questions and all you have to do is punch in the answers and it will form it in to a really pretty transcript for you. Once you make it you may never need it again, but at least you know you've got it anytime that questions is asked. So, go ahead get that transcript processed and start it whenever your student starts taking high school level classes. I'm Linda Wooldridge, have a great home school day."
