"Hi, I'm Linda Wooldridge. I'm a home school mom, and I've been home schooling since 1998. One of the first things that I did when I started home schooling was to look for a group of other home schooling parents that I could meet with regularly. I didn't have a clue what I was doing, and I knew I was going to need some help. If you do Internet research, you will find a multitude of groups. And even if there isn't an actual physical group in your area, you'll probably find some online support groups. At least there are people you can type in questions and get answers. But obviously the best option is to actually be able to go physically somewhere and meet other home schoolers. If you're home schooling and you're new to it, you might want to try contacting your school system. Our school system sends out a brochure, and in it, they have contact information for the local support groups. That's a great way to meet new people. If not, maybe your school system would be willing to pass your contact information onto other home schoolers, so that you can connect with some new people. However you do it, whether it's online or in person, whether there's an existing support group, or whether you have to just meet a few moms at the park, make sure that you get hooked in. It'll make your home school day go so much more smoothly, and you won't feel quite so alone. I'm Linda Wooldridge. Have a great home school day."
