"Hi, I'm Linda Wooldridge. I'm a home school mom. We've been home schooling for the last ten years. So you want to start a home education church school. First, get a group of moms together. Decide what you're going to teach and how you want to go about doing that. Are you just doing informal classes like painting or card making? Or are you going for the meat and potatoes, like teaching foreign languages, literature, and math? Once you've worked that out your next step is to find a church or other organization that will permit you to meet on their premises. Be sure and check with them about their rules. What do they require of you? Are you going to have to get insurance? It can get rather complicated depending on the churches requirements. And then you need to figure out who's going to teach the classes? How long are they going to last? Which curricula are you going to use? Is each teacher going to decide there own? Once you've worked out all of those details you ought to have a pretty good idea of how much you're going to have to charge the parents. And then you're moving on to sign up and that wonderful opening day of classes. Be sure that you have people on site who will be able to answer questions and take care of the security of your school, making sure that kids don't just run out in to the parking lot or have people wandering the premises at will. It's a lot to work on but it's a great opportunity for the kids. It's a lot of fun to get together with other students their own age, especially for those fun classes like painting and clay. Whichever way you decide to go, it'll be well worth the time and energy you spent. I'm Linda Wooldridge, have a wonderful home school day."
