"Hi, I'm Linda Wooldridge. I'm a home school mom. So, you have a preschool child? You don't really want to send them to a traditional school, but you want to make sure that they're getting the learning that they need to get at that age. Really, with a preschooler all you need to do is have fun and be ready to make a mess. Go out. Count the ducks in the pond. Count how many yellow cars there are and while you're at it, talk about the fact that the word car starts with a cu sound, but it's really a c. Life is full of learning opportunities. You don't need to buy any fancy curriculum, although there are some out there, and you don't need to do anything all that exciting. Just go through your normal day and be prepared to explain everything. You'll have to do some research unless you know why the sky is blue, why that cloud looks like a dragon, why one duck is brown and another one is white. You see where this is going. They're going to ask you so many questions that you don't need to purchase anything special. Be prepared to just have a great week with your child. Buy lots of manipulative Lego blocks, crayons, clay. In fact, if you really feel clever, go on line and get a recipe and make your own clay, and you'll have a wonderful time together. Your child will learn so much and you'll have had chance to spend some real quality time with your little one. I'm Linda Wooldridge. Have a great home schooling day."
