"Hi, I'm Linda Wooldridge, I'm a homeschooling mom, we've been homeschooling for over 10 years now. Did you know that Thomas Edison was told by his teacher that he was too stupid to attend school, his mother didn't agree with his teacher and she decided to bring him home, and we all know how that story ended. Sometimes you'll have a child that has special needs, who doesn't really do well in the school system, and you want to bring them home, but you're not really sure how to go about homeschooling them. Well, you can use resources within your public school system, sort of think of it as a cafeteria, choose what works for you, discard the rest. Make sure that you make friends with other people who have children who have the same needs as your child, they may know of resources that you didn't know about. And if you choose to home-school them, you want to get hooked in to a home-school support group, there probably will be other parents there who are facing the same challenges that you are, and if they're ahead of you on the path, if their children are a couple of years older, they'll be able to tell you what they've already found. Also do research on-line, there are curricula that are written specifically for children with special needs, those might be helpful to you. There are also resources that would show you different teaching methods that you can use. A lady by the name of Carol Barneia has written several books on how to home-school ADHD children. No matter how you choose to do it, it's a wonderful journey, and your children will never do better than they will with you at home. I'm Linda Wooldridge, have a great homeschooling day."
