"Hi, I'm Linda Wooldridge, I'm a home-school mom. How to home-school your child for free? It can be a challenge. Remember, that you're either going to be spending time or money, so if you're trying to save money, you're going to have to allow more time, because you'll be doing more of the work yourself. Having said that, there are lots of opportunities, you can always look for discarded public school text books, especially for the younger grades these can be a great resource. But remember, you probably are not going to get teachers manual to go with them, and the books, because they are being discarded by the school system, probably are at least 10 years old. So for some subjects, that might put you a little behind the times. Another option is your library. Many libraries have awesome resources, and especially for your elective subjects, or things like science and history, it's a great way to gather materials. Go in and get books on whatever subject interests you, maybe you want to study your going to the west and covered wagons. Did you know that a covered wagon was only 3 feet wide, and 6 feet long? We learned that from a library book. But you will have to write your own lesson plans, and you will have to figure out exactly how much you need to do in any one day, because you aren't going to have those pre-printed lesson plans. Don't forget about on-line, there are lots of awesome resources for free on-line, just search on whatever subject you're interested in. So those are some ways you could home-school for free. I'm Linda Wooldridge, have a great homeschooling day."
