"Hi I'm Linda Wooldridge I'm a home school mom. We've been homeschooling for over ten years now. I'm on my second teenager. So someone asked me the other day, how much does it really cost to home school a teenager. Well it kind of depends on how many of the bells and whistles you want to have. A basic curriculum doesn't cost any more for a teenager then it does for an elementary school student. If fact if you don't need a lot of manipulative's, the little counting blocks and things like that, it can almost be cheaper. But then many high schoolers have the option of using the local community college for some of their classes. And college textbooks can be rather pricey. So you have control over how much money you spend home schooling your child. Don't forget about using your library and your local resources, even borrowing books from some of your friends. Those are a great way to save money. And don't forget to sell your textbooks from last year so that you can use the money to buy books for this year. All in all you can spend anywhere from nothing to almost a thousand dollars home schooling your child. It all depends on how much of the work you are willing to do yourself and how much you are willing to use those free resources available to you. I'm Linda Wooldridge I hope you have a great home schooling day."
