"Hi I'm Amy McCauley and we are going to discuss the three phases of a workout. In a workout it consumes of a warm up, the workout itself and a cool down. A warm up generally consists of five to eight minutes of some kind of an exercise maybe on the treadmill or elliptical machine or bicycle something that is going to get your heart rate up. In a group exercise class we do a warm up that usually involves exercises that we will be using between the work out so that lasts between five to eight minutes. The actual work out itself is generally around 35 to 45 minutes and it can involve anything from weight training to aerobic type movements and then the cool down finishes with a very slow moving movements, generally includes stretching and flexibility, trying to lengthen the muscles and stretch the muscles that you have just worked. So those are the three phases of a work out, a warm up, a work out and a cool down."
