"Hi I'm Amy McCauley and we are going to discuss what is cross training. Cross training is choosing either two to three, possibly two, three or four different exercise activities to keep you from being bored. Say Monday, Wednesday, and Friday you are doing a weight training regimen and on Tuesday and Thursday you are riding a bicycle. You can vary it between two days of cardio three days of weights. You can also do sports activities so all cross training really is is just keeping it interesting, keeping the work outs interesting and doing different types of activities so that your body doesn't get used to what you are doing. If you continuously do weight training every single day of the week and you are not doing anything else your body is going to hit a plateau and you won't get the results from it that you want so definitely I encourage you to try different activities, maybe try to do swimming and biking and weight training, mix it up. If you don't like to do cycling, try running, walking, any kind of cardiovascular exercise mixed with your weight training. So try group exercise classes, that's a really good way to keep yourself from being bored. Work out with a personal trainer. They definitely help mix up the routine and that is what cross training is."
