"Hi, I'm Amy McCauley, and we're going to discuss how to lose a pound of fat. A pound of fat is approximately 3,500 calories. So the easiest way to do this is two hundred fifty calories in your diet you want to decrease. So if you're one who usually does a two thousand calories diet, drop your intake two hundred fifty calories from that. You also want to burn two hundred fifty calories more, so that during the day you've got a total accumulation of five hundred calories that you have lost. At the end of the week it's going to be a grand total of 3,500 calories. Keep in mind that a pound of muscle burns approximately sixty calories a day, so the more muscle you have the more calories you're burning. So a couple things to think about--you want two hundred fifty calories less in your diet, and two hundred fifty calories burned more during aerobic activity. And that is how you will lose a pound of weight."
