"So, you want to be a belly dancing professional? Hi, I'm Johanna Krynytzky with Hip Expressions Belly Dance Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida. So, how do you prepare for performing professionally? The first of course is to work on your belly dance technique. Practice your isolations, practice your moves, practice your choreography until it's nice and solid. Other things you have to keep in mind when performing, you have to keep your eye contact with your audience and you want to give a nice appearance that things are very easy and smooth and that you're just having a good the time out on the dance floor. So, if you want to perform professionally, say, in a restaurant or a night club or even at a Buffalo or a Belly Dance Show, sometimes it's a good idea to get with the group and start performing with a group first, then you have the support of all your dance sisters and your under the guidance of a director. When you're ready to go out and dance on your own, it's a good idea to find a mentor, somebody who performs in your area, ask her for belly dance tips, take what she says seriously and then perhaps she'll let you sub for her one of her events or perform with her at some of her events. So the number one thing to do is get experience. So if you have a mentor, you're building your experience up, then, soon you can be a professional performer. I'm Johanna Krynytzky with Hip Expressions Belly Dance Studio, helping you to be a professional belly dancer."
