    "You have been doing business for a while under a fictitious name and you've decided perhaps you should register that name. Hello, I'm Robert Todd and I'm here to answer the question how to register a company name. Well this is going to vary from state to state and also sometimes the registering of a company name involves trademark. One of the first things you want to do is to check with your state statutes and your local county ordinances to find out what's involved in registering a fictitious name. Sometimes is as simple as going down to the county clerk's office and obtaining a form, completing it, paying a filing fee and you've registered the name. Sometimes its also involved with publishing that fictitious name in a local newspaper. Again, your state statutes going to determine what you have to do but in some instances, you may also have to consider registering this name with the federal government.
