"You have decided to go into business and use a name for your business other than your own. Sometimes called doing business as. Hello, I'm Robert Todd and I'm here to answer the question how do I file a DBA? Well this is going to vary from state to state but in general, the best way is to find out from your state what statutes are involved or go to your local county court offices where generally its as simple as completing a form and filing a fee and ask the county clerk to assist you. If its a little more than that, then you may want to go online and get the appropriate forms from the secretary of state's office that's in your particular state. Sometimes the filing of a fictitious name requires the publication in a local newspaper and when that's required, customarily the newspapers that publish those types of notices also have the forms and can assist you. I'm Robert Todd and thank you for watching."
