"You have decided to go into business with a business associate and you've heard that a Limited Liability Company or an LLC is the way to go. Hello, I'm Robert Todd and I'm here to answer the question what's involved in forming an LLC? Well first of all as you might expect, it varies from state to state and the first thing you want to do is check the state in which you're going to do business to find out what they require to form LLCs. The next step would be to contact the local office of the small business administration that is nearest to the area that you wish to do business and find out from them what types of licenses and registrations you may need to operate this LLC. Next, you're going to have to decide on a name that your LLC is going to operate under. And if its a fictitious name, you're going to have to register that name. So you're going to have to check the state's statues in your state to find out what's involved with respect to that as well. You're also going to have to file with the state articles of organization and you may want to consider having an attorney assist you in preparing the articles of incorporation. I'm Robert Todd and thank you for watching."
