"So are you wondering on how often you should wear your retainers? Well my name is Michelle and I'm a dental assistant with Solutionz, and I'm going to explain to you on how often you should. Basically you would definitely need to consult with your orthodontist on who did your braces because they more likely nine times out of ten they will prescribe to you to wear them for the first month all the time. The only time you take them out is whenever you eat. Then after a month you would just go and wear them only at night, whenever you're sleeping, and then, so then - and then also too you would - and within the - every three months you would be seeing your orthodontist, so therefore they can check your - and kind of maintain the straightness of your teeth, make sure that you're wearing your retainer, sometimes after you get your braces off and you're wearing your retainer for a certain amount of time your teeth settle back into the bone and your retainer might become loose. So you would need to go to your orthodontist once every three months for her to maybe tighten the retainer or loosen it. But definitely for the first month you want to wear it all the time, twenty-four seven, the only time you take it out is whenever you eat, and then you would wear it every night, just put it in before you go to bed, take it out before you go to work or school the next day. And then - and in the meantime keeping it in your carrying case so you don't lose it. But once again my name is Michelle and I'm a dental assistant with Solutionz and I just explained to you on how often you should wear your retainer."
