Now this, that since we're playing eighth notes on the hi hat, they all line up with the strokes of the bass drum. So the first part of this beat, the bass drum is anticipating beat one on the and of four, and then playing on one. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. And then the bass drum also plays with the snare, the back beat, on beat three. One, two, three, four."
