"Hi, I'm Steve Jones, we're going to look at how to convert Fahrenheit temperature into temperature Celsius or the old name was Centigrade. So, we know that temperature Celsius, 0 Celsius is actually 32 Fahrenheit. And a 100 Celsius is 212 Fahrenheit. So the conversion formula look very complicated but they're actually very simple to use. The temperature in Celsius is the temperature in Fahrenheit, -32, multiplied by a 100, divided by a 180, very simple. Or temperature in Fahrenheit is this, rearranged, is the temperature in Celsius multiplied by 180, divided by 100 32. Let's do one example, for example, to find the temperature in Fahrenheit of 50 Celsius, should be an interesting things. So we're going to look at 50 Celsius. Alright. So the temperature in Fahrenheit is going to be equal to the temperature in Celsius, which is 50, multiplied by 180, divided by 100, that's simply enough 32. Be careful that you do the multiplying part first within this bracket, I'll make that bracket a little larger, so you can see this is all within the first bracket, and then we're going to add 32 at the end. So let's calculate this now. Well it's easier to do a little bit of canceling. If I cancel 50 with a 100, that becomes 2, 180 divided by two is 90 32, which is 122. So that's a 122; so the temperature in Fahrenheit of 50 Celsius, it's 122 degrees Fahrenheit. Now to do it the other way around, to convert a temperature in Celsius to Fahrenheit, sorry, in Fahrenheit to Celsius is no more difficult. Let's just do one of those. The temperature in Celsius is, let's say a 100 Fahrenheit. Well here, we've got temperature in Fahrenheit, it would be a 100-32, alright, so I do that first and then I multiply it by 100 and I divide by 180. Alright. So it's 100-32 first, which is, 100-32 is 68 times 100 over 180. And that is the temperature Celsius. So this is 100 degrees Fahrenheit. And this was converting 50 Celsius, this is the conversion that we've done. So you can see we convert either way, but the best thing is to remember this basic point and from those you can scale to find any temperature you wish, using a graph for example."
