"Hi, I'm Athena Reich and I'm an actress, singer/songwriter and performing arts coach here in New York City. In this clip I'm going to talk about how to plan a concert in the park. Well first of all, pick a park and then contact your local parks and recreation department to see if you need a permit or if it's just a free for all and you can do it on your own. There's some parks where you can just go and do an acoustic concert, just play guitar with no equipment and it's fine, like Central Park. Or there's if you want to do a larger venue, there's some parks where you really have to get a park permit. So just contact parks and rec and you can find that out. Next, determine your genre. Do you want it to be a jazz concert, a pop concert, a rock concert, a classical choir concert? Next, research and pick a headliner. Who's going to be the big act? Who's going to be the name to get people out? Also, contact local businesses. See if they want to do some advertising in the programming or and maybe they can give some money. Also determine are people going to have to pay tickets? Is it going to be a fund raiser? There's lots of things to figure out. Make sure the place is litter free the day before. Get all your friends together and be there from morning to night to organize to make sure everything runs smoothly. This has been Athena Reich on how to plan a concert in the park."
