How to Find a Legitimate Modeling or Acting Agent

"Hi, I'm Athena Reich and I'm an actress, singer/songwriter, and performing arts coach here in New York City. In this clip I'm going to talk about how to find a legitimate modeling or acting agent. The best way is to go to the Ross Reports. This is a magazine that you can buy at any New York or L.A. news stand. Or, if you live in Iowa, you can just go on the Internet. Just Google Ross Reports and this site will come up, it's backstage.com/ etc. etc. It's a complicated site so just Google Ross Reports, alright? And right here you can do a search for agents. You can search by state. So, if you are in Iowa, you can just search and a list of legitimate modeling and acting agents will come up. Now a little bit of tips here. An acting, a legitimate agent, is not, most likely is not going to have a fee. Some do, but they're not going to have a regular monthly fee, they're going to take a commission out of what work you get through them. Another thing is a legitimate agent is not going to recommend or say in order to sign with them that you have to work with a specific photographer. Just things to keep in mind.
