"Our next weight lifting exercise is going to be the standard Barbell curl. Dan: Alright, the barbell curl is going to work mainly your biceps, and what I need for biceps and triceps is to throw the punches out and bring them back in, and your biceps and triceps are also used for clinching, and this is the barbell curl used with an easy bar, so it's less strain on your wrist. Now, what you do; feet shoulder width apart, bend them down, you're going to pick this up with your legs until you get to about your upper thigh level. What you want to do is bring the barbell up, just so where you feel it tighten your biceps. Many people make the mistake of going over like this which is no good. You bring it down, bring it back up; it tightens your biceps. Remember to breathe; breathe out, breathe in, and what a lot of people do if they got too much heavy weight is using momentum, and you'll see them come down like this, and try to; they're swinging it up, and they're using their body for momentum, and they're recruiting other muscles which is not good. It's just simple; knees slighting bent, keep your elbows tucked in, bring it up, squeeze for a count of two, bring it back down, or if you use a lighter weight, you can use explosive movement, and that's the barbell curl.
