"We are talking about long term relationships and the sad point where we may realize that our marriage might be over. I'm Joe Cuenco with family resources. And today we are going to be talking about some of the indicators that will help us understand when a marriage is over. You know realistically they say that death and taxes are the only certain things in our society. I've actually seen married people divorce and get remarried. So realistically to say that a marriage is over is really a difficult thing to say. Unless you are married to an axe murderer. I would suggest a marriage counselor, talking to a Minister, a Pastor, somebody to really help you understand what's happening in your relationship. There's a lot of finality towards divorce, not to say that it's the end but really there's a lot of difficulty involved in that process. So counseling and having a discussion with the Minister, or Pastor is an important thing. And people break up over some of the silliest things. Squeezing the toothpaste on the wrong end, putting the toilet paper on the wrong side, but that's an indicator that something much more deep rooted is really fundamental, a fundamental problem in the relationship. It could be communication, it could be that there's a lack of respect. Some things that your partner needs to do that really could be, really could be fixed. Couples workshops, marriage education need to help understand the dynamics and the fundamentals there. But you really need to take a balance sheet approach, understand what the marriage strengths are, what the weaknesses are and what you can do to work on things and hopefully progress to not having a divorce. I would suggest a trial separation first. It's real key and if you got children it's something else, that's another dimension of importance that you really need to consider. So is it over. Really that's a key that many people need to be involved in and it's a question that you need to ask your heart. But it's a decision that you should not take lightly. I'm Joe Cuenco with family resources, relationships for life."
