"Hi, my name is Guillermo Gomez and I coach youth soccer and today I'm going to give you some tips to care for your soccer cleats. You know I've lived in England, I've played soccer there and as you all know it rains there all the time so I've definitely got some good lessons about how to take care of my cleats. You know, the first thing you want to do is after a game is, you want to gather your cleats, shake them up, get all the dirt, all the mud out of your shoes, okay. Often they might be wet, after you've had a game on a rainy day. At any rate, even if they're wet, go home, get a nice towel. Okay, get it wet and clean your soccer cleats very well. Take all the mud and all the green away from the leather. After they're all nice and clean, even while they're wet, you want to apply leather softener. This will keep the integrity of your leather and make it much lasted for longer. So, it's very nice, this is why they sometimes call it leather food. So you open it up, okay. Often when you buy this leather protector, it comes with a sponge like this one. So you get the leather softener and apply it all throughout your shoes. Okay, you can see how the shoe starts to get a little bit shiny. So remember you can do this even while the shoe is wet. Okay, I know the shoe is wet and we might need it for the nest day, but you definitely want to avoid putting that shoe right in the sun or underneath a hidden system. You want to avoid that because that will dry off the shoe and it will make it very uncomfortable the next time you put it on. Okay, to summarize it, shake the dirt very well. Use a rag, a wet rag clean your shoe very well first, get all the dirt out of it. Then you want to apply your leather softener to your shoe and rub it in very well. Sometimes actually, some players actually like to polish their shoes after they have applied their leather softener. You know this is a ritual for soccer players, it develops a good habit, is good and makes your shoe last much longer. Now you also have synthetic shoes. You want to do the similar process, you can clean them up all the time as well. Perhaps you don't need to do the leather softener because they're not leather. But you want to go through the same process, dry them off very well, shake the dirt, use your wet towel, clean them up and then lay them, then put them in an area that can be ventilated so they can dry them as soon as possible. That's how you can take care of good soccer cleats and make them last much longer."
