"Hi my name is Guillermo Gomez and I coach soccer and I would like to talk to you about how you can succeed as a player in a soccer tryout. You know first you want to understand the process. You want to know what the coaches are looking for. You want to have a good positive attitude when you go to it. So when you bring your player to a tryout. First of all make sure that they have a perfect meal in the morning and they are well fed. Have them dress appropriately, no jewelry, no necklaces or rings or earrings, anything that normally you wouldn't use in the game of soccer. Have them dress appropriately with shin guards on with their soccer cleats on. I also recommend have a few touches on them, play with your kid so your kid gets comfortable with the ball and stops thinking about the process. Then before the tryout insure that the person goes to the restroom, that is something important that can be overlooked sometimes because kids are nervous and they tend to forget to use the restroom before that. Then as the process continues you as a parent try to stay away from the process. This can be distracting for both the player and the coaches as well. So the next time your son goes for a soccer tryout I hope this is good advice that I am giving you. because"
