"Hi this is Aaron Hale here at Fitness for Life here in Wilmington, North Carolina to tell you a little bit about the leg extension here. So I'm on a Cybex Leg Extension machine here and we are going to perform a couple of repetitions here for you. With the believe it or not we can be doing it improperly so we are going to make sure that all of our settings are correct. First and foremost you want to make sure that when you are in your position here when we get our foot position we want to make sure that the seat comes all the way up so that we are sitting in a very natural position. Also that gives you an opportunity to see if everything here is in line and we can also adjust the foot hold as well. So now that we are in a proper position here we have selected a weight that is going to be easy for us to perform and do properly on our first set. It is very simple. It has two handles right here that you hold on to just for security measures and just take the weight and take your feet straight from this position all the way up to the ceiling so there it is. I'm fully extended. You can see that I am fully engaged here in my quads and then just slowly take the weight back down. With most movements the leg extension is no exception. We want to drive the weight forward but we want to release the weight at a slower pace. We are here, we don't want to get wild with it. We always want our motions to be controlled but we also want to really drive the weight. So we're here and then take the weight up, slow on the way down, nice and controlled and drive the weight up. Slow on the way down and drive the weight, just like that. So that's how to do a leg extension, here from Aaron Hale at Fitness for Life here in Wilmington, North Carolina."
