"The first thing I'm going to show you how to do is how to put on a one band EQ. What I'm going to do is I'm going to go to my snare part right here and I'm going to add within my inserts the one band EQ, now the one band EQ is basic, something that allows you to effect the gain, basically the amplitude of certain frequency within a sound, you know what I'm saying. Now the gain will, if I turn down the gain, it's basically going to turn down at this frequency whatever frequency I choose. As far as say you've got like a hissing, you know what I'm saying, a certain irritating sound, this is going to allow you to pick out that sound within your mix, kind of single it out, and kind of turn it down a little bit. Now, the Q is what effects the width of the band range, the width of the band range is going to be effected, if you turn this all the way up, it's going to make it as skinny as possible so, it kind of just can cut one little piece out, if you want to broaden it, bring it to a low number, it's going to widen the band width, so that you're effecting more sound, you know what I'm saying, so it's basically going to take out more and not just pin point one little sound."
