"The save a copy in option is very important. Like for me, I use 6.9, so, all the people who might use 7.1, they might not be able to, there are certain people who might not be able to accept other files from other people. Like I can accept the session as 7.1 and once you save it as 6.9, the icon just doesn't show up on my computer. What you can do is you can save a copy in and create that new icon for that version of Protools that you're going to. So if you're sending your mass, you know, your file to another studio to get mix and mastered, you need to make sure you know which kind of Protools, Protools they're working with and so you can save the file and get that right icon. So what I'll do here is I press to go to file and save a copy in. Once I save a copy in, this lets me choose these different session formats. If I have no version 7.1, it's going to let me choose 6.9. So I can save a copy of the actual, the file in there, but you could also copy any audio file or any type of other files that might go along with the session, within any folder you choose or hard drive."
