"Hi I'm Amelia and I'm going to show you a few ways to style fine, straight hair. With fine, straight hair what you first want to start with is a volumizing shampoo and conditioner. What that's going to do is prep the hair for styling. Products are one of the top ways in order to maintain your look with fine, straight hair. You always want to use some sort of volumizing product. I like sprays, volumizing mousses, or even root boosters. Which root boosters you actually spray at the scalp and that gives a lot of volume through the top of the hair. Now if you're looking more for hold a volumizing gel works great. You always want to start with either your hands or a brush. I like a vent-style brush or a paddle-style brush, something to sort of move the hair around, and that's called power drying. When power drying the hair you always want to make sure that you brush the hair in the opposite direction that you wear it, that's going to give you the maximum amount of volume. You want the hair to be about 80% dry, and 80% dry is pretty dry. Because you don't need to overwork yourself or your hair, that's the number one mistake most women make. Then you're going to take your brush and that's where your going to actually put your volume in and I always recommend either a round brush or any type of brush that has a rounded back to it. I've only styled one side of this mannequin's hair but you can see the volume that I got out of it just by using a round brush and lifting up in the opposite direction that you wear it and really pulling that hair down and around. Plus the styling products are what helps to give it support and hold. And that's how you style fine, straight hair."
