"Hi, I'm Amelia and I'm going to show you how to create a curly updo for prom hair. First you want to make sure your hair is clean and dry, spray it with a thermal protectant, and then curl your entire head. Then you're going to want to take a little bit of wax, or a shine product and you don't want to brush through the curls, and what I like to do is basically put everything in a ponytail and go from there, I find that to be the easiest way to start. So, as you see I've got this part of the hair in a ponytail and this is all still out. So, what you do with the part that's in the ponytail, now you just want to create some barrel waves, or barrel curls, and those are just smooth, large curls. So, you just kind of wrap them around your finger, and again I've got, I've still got smoothing products on my hand, so we just wrap that around your finger, and then pin it. So, I've got two barrel curls back here, depending on how tight your curls are around the rest of your head, you just do the same thing all over, just being creative and artistic and just bringing them back. So, you can make barrels, you can make pin curls like that, whatever you feel like doing, just sort of incorporate it into the rest of the hairstyle. And, at this point, I like to use hair pins instead of Bobby Pins, but you need to use what's comfortable for you. I find that Bobby Pins are easier to hide, I'm sorry the hair pins, rather, are easier to hide. So, I'm just going to grab these curls, and continue bringing them back all the way around the head and sort of make the hairstyle all one cohesive look. Now, this mannequins bangs are an awkward length, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to give her a little bit of a poof on the top, by just teasing behind and bringing it back and pinning it into place. You always have to of course, take into consideration your layers and such that are going on in your hair. So, really you just want to keep pinning until it looks the way you want it to look, and then you've got yourself a curly updo for prom."
