"Hi, I'm Amelia and I'm going to show you some techniques on how to blow-dry hair. Of course, you need the blow dryer. You don't, when you blow-dry hair you want to make sure that you get it mostly dry before you start using any brushes, that way you're not overworking the hair and you're not making it too hard on yourself. So first I started by just power drying the hair and now this is when I'm going to either use a paddle brush, or a round brush, to get the technique and the look that I want. Now, if I want a little bit more of a natural wave look, I could just leave it like that and let it air dry. If I'm wanting a smoother look, I'm going to want to use a round brush. Now, with my round brush, I'm going to put the dry on low so that I have a little bit more control over the hair and what I'm doing. Now, when blow-drying hair at home, it's going to be easier to drop it in sections, so you'll twist up and put away what you don't need, and when you're done drying that section, you drop the next section and start working on that. It's a way to keep that hair in control. Another thing I'm also using is the cool shot button, which is this button right here on your blow dryer and what that does, is that cools down the hair and sets the look. And, depending on the direction I want the hair to go, that's the direction I'm brushing in. If I want it to flip up, I use the brush and flip the hair up, and come up from underneath with the dryer. If I want the hair to turn under, I grab the hair and turn it under. If I want more of a curl, I go in vertically, heat that hair up, and then use the cool shot button and I get more of a curl. And, those are some techniques for blow-drying hair."
