"Hi I'm Kim Haertl with Simply Beautiful in Austin, Texas. One of the most important nights is prom night and we're going to talk about how to do makeup for prom night. Prom night makeup is different from every other day in that sometimes we want to take the colors of our dresses and put it into our eyes so we can bring them together. Most often we don't do that, we just want to find a color that works well for us. During prom we want more of a defined eye and we just want to make our eyes pop. So we're going to start with our standard stuff. Cleanse, tone, and moisturize your skin. Use your foundation that matches your skin. Before you do there's a couple of products on the market that just add radiance to your skin. So we've put our concealer on, we've done our foundation, then we want to take our radiance booster just highlight on our cheekbones, on our forehead, on our nose, and our chin. That's going to give you a nice radiance to your skin, and it's going to come through your foundation. Next you're going to put your foundation on using the Q-tip in your foundation and tap, tap, tap. A blending sponge and blend it all together. Get your jawline, get your chin, and your nose. Make sure your foundation matches your skin as well as it can. You're not looking for color with your foundation, we can add that with blush or bronzer. The most important aspect of prom makeup is going to be your eyes but before we do that we're going to put a little powder on. So take your big brush, get your compact powder, get the brush fool of powder, tap it off and blend it over your face. Don't forget your jawline, this is going to give you a nice matte finish. And it's going to help set the foundation so it lasts longer. So now to the eyes. We're choosing three colors for the eyes tonight with Megan's dress and I think we're going to go with something of a green with a purple. Now that sounds strange, but when you see it at the end you'll see how beautiful it is. We're going to start with the lightest color, and we're going to use three altogether. Our lightest color in this case is a very pale gold, we're going to sweep it over the eyelid up to the brow. Inside, outside, really well blending. Nextly, we're going to take a smaller brush and contour the eye in the crease. We're going to use our turquoise green color. So gold, then green, you can use purple, you can use brown or bronze, whatever color works for you. But make your contrast into that first color. So blend into the crease, bring it to the inside of the eye and out parallel to your eyebrow. Blend. Now you might want to take a contrasting color here, in which case I've used a little purple color, and I've gone right along the lash line. This plum color is going to bring out the green in her eyes. Plum brings out a lot of people's eye color. It works for green eyes, and brown eyes, and blue eyes as well. So the next step for us is a little underneath, going to use the same color underneath. And blending. Now mascara, of course. Get a nice thick coat of it on tonight, you might want to use waterproof because it's an important night. Tips down, tips up, no clumping. Try to bring it straight up and out. So use a lengthening and thickening mascara for that. Your blush, we like these kind of brighter colors a little bit peachy-pinky colors with a little shimmer in them. Just on the apple of our cheeks. Just brings them out, gives them a nice glow. Because we have dramatic eyes we want to go with just a lip gloss on your lips. You want something shimmery, but not too heavy and not too dark. You've got these beautiful colors on your eyes. Your eyes are popping, they're matching your dress, the lips just need to have a little glow. Have fun."
