"Hi I'm James with JNC Home Repair and today I'm going to tell you how to save money on your electric bill. The first thing you want to do is you want to go around and inspect your doors and your windows and make sure that you don't have any kind of leaks. You want to make sure that you have got good weather stripping around the doors. You want to make sure that the weather stripping around your windows is sealed up good and it is not all dried and cracked up. Another thing is to make sure that you may have your attic insulated. That is actually going to keep your cold air in if you are down here in the South, you want to keep that cold air in and keep that hot air out, or vice versa if you are up North. You want to make sure that your house is insulated properly, make sure that you don't have any cracks or gaps in between your doors and your windows, that is the basic easiest way to save money on your electric bill because that is where your energy goes. Also you can unplug appliances things that are not in use. Even if you have an extension chord plugged into the wall and it is not being used, it is using electricity from the house to actually generate that extension chord so anything that is not being used or anything that is not being used around the house that is plugged in, go around and unplug it and you will actually save you some money that way."
