"Hi I'm James with JNC Home Repair and today I'm going to show you how to measure your kitchen cabinets. If you are planning on some kind of remodel here soon and you have got some existing cabinets in your kitchen and you want to go on with some new cabinets you want to pretty much get them the exact same size. It is going to help you later minimize on some of the drywall repairs, some of the patch work that is going to be involved when you actually remove the cabinets and go back in with the new ones. If you have got something that is real close to the same size it is going to make your install a lot smoother. If you are doing new construction then you have got a lot more room to play with. You can play around with the different sizes that you actually want to install. But what we are going to do today is we are going to measure the cabinets. You are going to want to measure the height. You are going to want to measure the width and then you are going to want to measure the depth of them. Actually that is the distance between the base of the cabinet and the wall. Those are the three basic measurements for measuring cabinets."
