"Hi, I'm Kim Haertl with Simply Beautiful in Austin, Texas. Let's talk about how to rehydrate dry hands. Especially in the wintertime, our hands tend to get really, really dry or if they've been in water a lot. So it's going to be the same kind of process as when we have dry skin on our face. We're going to start with getting our hands wet. Then we're going to put a little exfoliator on it. We want to remove all the dead surface skins on the surface. It's what makes our hands feel so dry and flaky. We're going to rub in a circular motion. Don't forget the tips of the fingers and down the knuckles. Just rub. Get up on the wrist. Get underneath your hands. Just really rub it in really, really well. Get a really nice, gentle exfoliator that has spherical, round, really round spheres. This St. Ives is one of the ones that I like the best because it's very gentle. You don't want to tear up your skin in the process. After your exfoliation is complete, rinse your hands - get all the grains off. Then I want you to take a really good emollient, very thick hand cream, about the size of a quarter. Rub it between your fingers and just massage it into your skin. Just, it feels so good. And just keep rubbing and rubbing it. Give yourself a hand massage with it. Just rub. And then just leave it be. If you'd like, for extra, extra effort - extra effect - put a glove over the top of it. A hair color glove, dish gloves - something the heat will really work that in deeply. The longer you leave it on there, the deeper it will set. Now having said that, that by itself may be enough to just really give you a nice feeling that your hands are rehydrated. If you don't feel like that's enough, I want you to get a hydrating mask. A hydrating mask will say hydrating or moisturizing mask. You can just go ahead and put that right on your hands, taking a quarter size on your fingertips and just putting it on your skin. Again, on the tops of your palm. I mean, the top of your hand, down your fingers, and just smooth that in. You want to put a thin layer on. It doesn't need to be real thick. Focus on those knuckles, and leave that. Again, if you want a more intense effect, put those gloves back on, leave it for ten minutes or so. Once they're finished, take it out, rinse it, and you'll have beautifully hydrated hands that won't make you feel dry and cracked any longer."
