Summary: Use the TCE to resize any audio track in Pro Tools to make it longer, shorter or line it up perfectly with the tempo of the grid. Resize and move audio tracks in Pro Tools with tips from an experienced music engineer in this free video.
"What I'm going to show you now is, how to resize the loops, and how to move different tracks. Now with this, I can easily resize anything I want, just by using this TCE. Now, within the TCE, I can basically take any track, and resize to whatever size I want. Now, I see this, and I kind of see that it's a little shorter than three bars, because of the tempo. What I can do is, actually stretch this out, so that it goes to four bars, so I'm actually going to take this, and extend it to four bars, so that it kind of matches up with my tempo. Now that I do this, each of these tracks are basically in time with the grid now, and it's very easy to do, and basically it allows you to repeat these, and do whatever you want. You can also take these tracks, and move them, by just kind of grabbing your tracks, and just moving them to wherever you want within the track. So just highlight it, and kind of just move it to whatever position you want, and between wherever you want, it's pretty easy. You can also take these tracks and press the Apple key to de-select one of them, and kind of move them around that way too if you'd like."
