"We're going to be talking about relationship skills, particularly, how to slice and dice a bad relationship, how to dump your girlfriend. Hi, I'm Joe Cuenco with Family Resources. Just what is the best way to dump your girlfriend? Well, if you're going to be dumping your girlfriend it probably implies that something really bad has happened and you want to make a quick and as clean a break as possible. Now, dating in the twenty first century is really different, there is a lot of independent women, there are female players, just as there are guy players but women still have feelings. Before you really press that red button on the injection seat from that jet, you really need to take an inventory and really understand what has happened to get us to this point because it might not have been all her fault, it might have been part of your fault. Relationships are basically a two way street so some type of communication, a dialog, to understand what really happened is going to be important because you may be carrying some of these behaviors into the next relationship and if it's her, her pattern of behavior will probably be the same in the next. So, could you not handle her flirting? Was she spending too much time on credit cards? or was it something that you were doing? If the relationship is not salvageable, it's best done face to face, do it cleanly, or by phone saying "this is unacceptable behavior, it's not going to work, there's no chance that we're ever going to get together again", but you want to be respectful. Avoid harmful language, no swearing at one another, respect the individual, and don't burn any bridges because in today's society, chances are you're going to run into that person again, in social circles, or you may actually need a favor from her or who knows, you may get back together with her at some point in time. So, be cautious of your approach, be respectful of the individual, make it clean, and just say "the relationship is over and it's not you", and that's how to dump your girlfriend.
