"Coach Rudy, I've won championships both as a coach and as a player. Shooting in the game of basketball is obviously very very important. The jump shot is very important and learning how to shoot off the back board is very important and learning how to shoot three is crucial. In the new age of basketball, three ball is a very important part of the game. Learning how to shoot the three pointer is just the same as learning how to shoot the jump shot, just a little bit further obviously and if you have to make sure that you get a correct arc on the ball and you have a little bit more force from your legs. You are relying on your shooting range and you are relying on your extension and you have to understand where the ball is going. Is it going over the front of the rim just beyond the front of the rim or just in front of the back of the rim? Keep your eye on your feet, set your feet about shoulder width apart, catch the ball, get full range, get the extension, get the lift, keep your eye on the rim, right on the front of the rim or just in front of the back of the rim. Understand that you are out a little bit further and you want to make sure you get the extra energy into the shot. Very important, same range, a little extra energy, a little higher arc, just in front of the front of the rim, just in front of the rim or just in front of the back of the rim. Shooting the three, learn how to do it, it's crucial."
