"Coach Rudy here. I've won championships both as a coach and a player. Let's talk about the shooting motion. A really good shooter will tell you that establishing a shooting routine is crucial. What I mean by that is always making sure that your feet are set. Always making sure that your feet are pointed towards the basket. Having them be no wider than your shoulders. Having your knees bent, ready to receive the basketball. When you receive the basketball, being ready to shoot the basketball. It doesn't matter if somebody's running at you, or if you're wide open. Your motion is the same every time, ever time, every time. Receive the basketball, we've got our feet set, our shoulders, we're--our feet point towards the rim, our shoulders set for the receipt, we catch the ball, we go up in our range with the ball in our fingertips, not resting on our palm--on our fingertips. As we release the ball, it comes off of our fingertips, and we always finish high. Release the ball, finish high. Ball on the tips, release off the tips, finish high. Feet set, shoulders set, ball on the tips, finish high. Feet set, shoulders set, receive the ball on the fingertips, off the fingertips, finish high. That is the correct shooting motion, and should be done the same way every time, every time, every time. Learn how to shoot, become a sharpshooting basketball player."
