"Coach Rudy here. I've won championships both as a player and coach. One of the most important things in the game of basketball--the passing game. I'm very old school when it comes to fundamentals. You have to learn how to do all the basics. Passing is one of those things we need to learn how to do. A lot of you young cats out there, a little bit too much dribbling. Let's work on our passing game. All right, bounce pass. First thing you do is identify exactly where you want to pass the ball. Second thing you do, is you take a step towards your target. Third thing you do, fingertips toward the ground, thumbs pointed in, and the ball must travel three quarters of the distance between you and the target. A lot of people think it's half way. Half way isn't far enough for a good defender--they can still make a steal. If you bounce it three quarters of the way, you get get underneath the arm of the defender and that is super, super important. Step towards the target, fingertips towards the ground, step towards the target, fingertips toward the ground, thumbs pointed in, ball must travel three quarters of the way between you and the target. That is a good fundamental bounce pass. Learn how to do it."
