"Coach Rudy here, I've won championships both as a coach and a player. Let's talk about the one-three-one zone and how to beat it. Here in red, we've got the one-three-one defenders. As a coach, we know we need to off-set that by committing resources to areas where players are not. So we'll run a two, three against that. Now keeping in mind this guy's in the three second area, so he's going to work from here to here, right. Two things we have to be able to do against this defense. Number one is be able to hit the shot from the corner. Both corners we've got to be able to shoot the ball from there. Also, we're going to reverse the ball faster than they can move their defense. They're not giving us the middle, that's not going to happen. So they're weakness is here and here. So what we do is, we swing the ball, we set the pick, we come beyond, we reverse the ball, we get it in to the weak side, get it over the top, shoot the corner, go down and play defense. That's how you beat a one-three-one."
