"Hi, I'm Jay French at jayfrenchstudios.com, and today I'm going to teach you how to draw the New Year's Baby. All right, so we're going to do a cartoony New Year Baby because that's usually what you want. Let's get a head in here. And a really good fat body. Now you do want the New Year Baby usually to be cute, so let's give him a nice little round chin. A fun little mouth. And just use an unfinished circle for the nose. Give him big eyes because babies have big eyes, and really high eyebrows, he's real happy about it being the New Year. Big old ears. 'Cause we can make reference to that old Rudolph animation. Chubby cheeks of course. And if you want some more - a realistic tone to it, make the back of the head go back a little further like a real baby. Let's give him one curl. And, get his little round shoulders. Babies have very chubby everything - limbs...and this is a very confused baby New Year. Give him the big banner across his belly, and just do the diaper like that. Now babies have very different positionings to their hips, their legs really go outward more easily, so we're going to do that again for a little bit of an air of realism, make that line underneath and give him some little baby feet and give him a year, we'll give him 1968 because he's a time travel baby. And that's a good way to draw the New Year's Baby from 1968."
