"Have you've been looking for a way to put fun back into your exercise program? Hi I'm Jani Roberts, and I'm a certified Personal trainer and a graduate of the American Academy of Nutrition. Today I'd like to show you how exercise can definitely be fun and effective. Remember the days of the hoola hoop? We could do it for a half an hour to an hour no problem and get an awesome work out not only for the core but also the heart and cardiovascularly. OK, maybe today we can't move our hips quite like that, but I'd like to show you a few exercises where you can definitely still have fun, use the hoola hoop and get some great results. First, let's take a nice wide second stance with our feet and relax the knees. We're going to tuck the hips under and engage the butt and also drive that belly button back towards your spine and engage those abs. Core is working here. Now with the palms facing each other, we're going to squeeze that hoola hoop together. Hold for ten seconds nice and tight. Don't hold your breath. Be sure to breathe. Relax it out and then take one full hip circle and really relax that lower back. One more time. Squeeze tight and full rotation. Excellent. Next exercise you're going to take the hoola hoop. Take it right out in front of you. Feet again nice and wide and knees relaxed. This time you're going to push down driving the lats, the muscles behind the bra strap or the tank top, straight towards the floor and contraction. Push down, a little squat, and release it up. Push down, small squat, working the glutes too, bonus. And release it up. Excellent. This is a way you can make your work-out fun and effective. Use the hoola hoop. I'm Jani Roberts.
