"How to lose a pot belly. There's a lot of gentlemen out there I know that want to know how to do this. It's really not that difficult guys. First of all, think about where it came from. It wasn't always that way. You didn't always have that extra weight on, so think about the lifestyle patterns that maybe changed while you started to gain that weight. The important thing to remember is how this is going to affect your health in the long term? This may really help to keep you motivated. My name is Jani Roberts. I'm a nationally certified personal trainer, and I'm also a graduate of The American Academy of Nutrition. Here are some tips that will help you with the pot belly situation. First of all; remember, the lower back, okay, a lot of pressure is put on that lower back whenever we have distension in the abdominal region. So you've probably noticed, as you've started to gain weight through the mid-section you're having a little bit of lordosis through that lower back. It puts a lot of pressure here. So we'll hear all the time as men gain weight in this mid-section they have more and more lower back pain. Does that sound like you? Okay, what you'll notice is as the weight starts to go away the body will start to realign itself, that pelvis will start to drop down, the back will start to get back into alignment the way it should be, and you won't feel all of that pressure and pain there. So, first thing we're going to do guys is we're going to lose the beverages just for a little while. Remember, this isn't forever. It'll just take a little while to lose that weight, and then you, modification is always the key. You can go back to having a little bit sometimes. So, I need you to increase your water intake. This is going to be really important. And you gotta' start moving. Okay, put the remote control down one hour a night, just one hour. You don't have to give it all up, but for one hour I want you to move. Do whatever you like. Take the dog for a walk; go play some ball with the guys, whatever makes you feel better. It doesn't make any difference to me, but just start doing something. It'll work. You'll have a lot less back pain; the pot belly'll be gone. You can lose the pot belly. Good luck.
