"You know not a week goes by and I'm in the gym and somebody doesn't come up to me and say how can I get rock hard abs? Hi my name is Jani Roberts and I'm a personal trainer and also a graduate of the American Academy of Nutrition. I won't kid you food really does play a huge part when you are looking for a real solid six pack but there are some great exercises in addition that really do make a difference. Now remember this is a little bit more advanced but you really want to make sure that you have a good strong lower back and no neck injuries or back injuries that are going to cause you trouble while you are doing these exercises. First let's take the plank. This is awesome. You are going to go straight to your forearms and plank the entire body. This really is used a lot in pilates and it really is effective. So all the way up into the plank. We are going to alternate down, alternate down. You can do as many reps as you can handle. Then we're going to go to a side plank. You are going to turn the arm towards the front, have a 90 degree angle there and then stack the body. From here we are going to drop the hip and lift the leg, drop the hip and lift the leg. Notice I'm not relaxing into the floor, it's a tough one and of course you can rotate to the other side. In addition reverse crunches rock. Take it all the way up, lift through the heels. You can always grab the mat for a little bit of stability but remember you are driving the belly button down as you drive through the heels to lift towards the ceiling. Try to keep the neck relaxed in the beginning. Lift it up and down, good job, up and down. More advanced, add the upper body, crunch and crunch. You are on your way to rock hard abs. I'm Jani Roberts. Thanks for joining."
