"Everyone is looking for that six-pack of abs, aren't they? Hi, my name is Jani Roberts, and I'm a certified personal trainer, and also a graduate of the American Academy of Nutrition. Now, I will tell you, some people are lucky. There is genetics involved, and it's just a little easier for them to get those six pack racked out than it is for many of us; however, most of us can do it if we're disciplined enough. This is really taking fitness to that next level. You're really challenging yourself when you're looking for that kind of definition. So first of all, you gotta' realize part of it is diet. Doesn't matter how many exercises you do for your core. You still gotta' look at what you're eating. Let's go ahead and take it a look at a few exercises that really are effective and will make a difference. First of all, let's look at the plank. You're going to walk all the way down to your forearms. Once you're in this position, look straight at the floor, keep your neck in alignment, and squeeze that abdominal wall as tight as you can towards your spine. Now, extend opposite arm and leg and back, opposite arm and leg and back; then hold again in the plank position. You'll feel em' shaking. Pike the abdominal wall up, back to neutral spine. Pike it up, back to neutral spine. Great, come on down. Now, if you can keep this in mind when you're doing all of your workout exercises, you're going to get extra reps all the time. The next exercise is going to be that reverse. Reverse crunch is awesome. It really attacks the wall from the bottom to the top. So, you're going to grab the sides of your mat. You're going to drive the hips; lift them straight towards the ceiling, but lead through your heels. Lift it up and relax it down. Try not to rock. Lift it up and down. Be sure to breathe. Up and down. Rock it up; you've got it. You're on your way to a six-pack. I'm Jani Roberts. Thanks for joining me."
